Jim Pearson; indie songwriter

Jim is an indie songwriter who has been an active performer in the North West for more than a decade. He has just self-released his ninth solo album “Death to Mortality”.

He is also singer, songwriter, and guitarist in niche NW band Scaredycats whose debut album “Dumb Animals” was pronounced album of the year by Liverpool Sound and Vision in 2017.

In 2020 Jim formed/joined international supergroup Nothing on TV, their second mini album “Transmit” has just been released.

Jim’s songs range from the whimsical to some of the most bitter and sombre themes, yet always with a paradoxical childlike spirit that meets them head-on – wide-eyed and full of hopeful energy.

His music has been played regularly on BBC 6 Music, and according to Tom Robinson, “You never can be sure what kind of project Jim will come up with next, but you can always be sure it’s gonna be pretty darn good.”

Most recently Jim won the Judges Award at the Liverpool Acoustic Songwriting Challenge 2023 with his song The Boy with the Red Hat.
