Chinarose are a 7-piece Post-Hardcore outfit from Liverpool, England. The band was formed from a college project at the prestigious Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts (LIPA) Sixth Form. Devised from the fervent and raw sounds of the industrial 90’s underbelly, their unique fusion of experimental, gritty synths and flavourful overdriven guitars create a raw and honest haven for those in search of unapologetic originality with intriguing builds, and heavy-hitting choruses. As well as this, their songs include entrenched lyrical themes which shine a light on everyday battles which many face every day in the harsh reality of the world. Their carefully orchestrated lineup includes two rhythm guitarists who hold the base layer of groove and feel, a lead guitarist who fuses noise-rock experimentation with bluesy-licks, an outstanding vocalist with an even more impressive range, backing vocals which tap away at your eardrums, a bassist with a fresh palate of grinding tones and immense lilt in the strings, a drummer with smooth fills and high intensity rhythm, and a synth player which decorates the instrumentation with extreme oscillations and grainy frequencies.
Chinarose take inspiration from Post-Hardcore, Industrial, and Noise-Rock, combining the elements of artists such as Slint, Fugazi, Jawbox, Death Grips, and Brainiac, to name a few, which when combined with their branded cover conversion of classic 90’s tracks, as well as their thrilling brand new studio recordings, their aspirations to set the trend for a twisted new wave of Post-Hardcore is more than feasible.
